Fall is Here!

Praising God for the change in seasons right now! Fall is such a beautiful time of year and is a great example and reminder that life comes through death. God allowed me some time today to take an old sweater of mine and make it into a little sweater for Jasmine. I think pink is definitely her color:) praise God that it turned out well, because I had no idea what I was doing…. Jasmine was spayed about a month ago, and when she had the surgery, her belly was shaved. So now that the cold weather is here, she gets cold really easily, especially if we are outside.

Too Cute!

Well, you can finally notice a difference in the length of Jasmine’s hair now. Yay! She was completely shaved about two and a half months ago. Shih tzu hair grows pretty fast. Can’t wait until its even longer! She’s just so darn cute and sweet. Still so thankful that God gave me the privilege of taking care of her❤

Dog Bed

Jasmine has a dog bed now! I had a super cute old pillowcase laying around, and I filled it with stuffing and sewed shut. took about 10 minutes to make. The idea came from my mom:)

Another New Family Member

Introducing our newest addition to the family….Finneas! He’s a kitten that was given to my sister, Emily, today. He actually was given to us from the same family that gave me Jasmine! Apparently when they lived together before, they were good buddies. We’ll see if that’s still true… I am so happy for my sister though! She loves cats, and God blessed her with one today:)

Sweater for Jasmine

Praise God this sweater turned out okay! Had NO idea what I was doing… It’s made out of an old sweater that was given to me when I was about 14, and I held on to it for some reason. Jasmine wears it way better than I did…

New Bows

Okay, I know I’ve been posting a lot about my shih tzu, Jasmine, but I just had to post these! After I put the pigtails in her hair this morning, I thought she would look pretty cute if she had bows in as well. At the time I didn’t have any matching bows made and I didn’t want to take a whole bunch if time to make her some. God allowed me to remember a method of making quick and easy dog grooming bows from a video I had seen on YouTube a while ago. It takes about 30 seconds to make one bow, and I think they look pretty cute with her short hair! She’ll start wearing the bigger, fancier bows I made once her hair grows out more. I wish I knew which video it was that I had seen so that I could put a link up in case anyone else is interested in making them. They can be used for other things as well if you don’t have a little dog, such as scrapbooking or card making. To make these, you weave some ribbon back and forth through a kitchen fork and then put a little hair tie around the middle to keep it in place! Super easy and fast! I can’t wait to pick up some more sheer ribbon at Dollar Tree to make her some more ribbons in different colors:) today I made some peach colored ones, which she’s wearing, and some light pink:)

Pigtails!

Jasmines first time wearing pig tails! Hehe! She looks so silly… Hopefully once her hair is longer it’ll look better. I still think she’s adorable though! Still praising God that he has allowed me to take care of this dog!

A Sunday Adventure

Today I started teaching Jasmine a new trick, “sit pretty”, where she sits with her bottom on the floor but keeps her front paws up and balances there until she gets her treat. She caught on really quickly! I just love training her, and I praise God for the time and patience he has allowed for this(for both of us!).

After training, we made a trip to Pet Smart to pick up some Styptic Powder so that I can trim Jasmine’s nails. The Styptic powder is to immediately stop any bleeding that may occur if an animals nails are ever accidentally trimmed to short. I’ve had the nail clippers for a while and was shown how to safely use them during one of our dog grooming classes, but I was afraid to cut them myself without having the powder nearby in case the worst happened(prayerfully I won’t need to use it). I am planning on trimming her nails tonight. Praying all goes well!

I couldn’t resist trying this super adorable, Martha Stewart coat on Jasmine! It was half off, which made it about thirteen dollars… As tempting as it was, I didn’t get it because she already has a jacket that I made for her. Oh well, maybe for Christmas?

After we checked out at Pet Smart, we walked next door to the book store, where Jasmine and I sat outside at a table while my mom shopped. I enjoyed people watching, and Jasmine enjoyed dog watching(there were a LOT of dogs getting groomed at Pet Smart today), specifically a male black standard Poodle that walked by, leaving Jasmine barking after him😏

It’s always a blessing to be able to occasionally take Jasmine places with us. It always breaks my heart whenever I have to leave the house without her and she watches me from the window…

Scrapbook Update

How to Save Birthday Cards

Punch holes in all those Birthday, Graduation, Christmas, and Thank You cards you’ve been saving and put rigs around them to keep them in one place and in order! I can’t remember where this idea came from, probably Pinterest or something, but my mom reminded me of it the other day. We love the results!
